As the number of women in the workforce has increased, so has the interest in women in STEM fields.
This month, we look at how to get more women in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
If you want more women involved in STEM careers, then get ready to watch more MLM videos.
The number of female MLM employees has doubled in the last year and now accounts for nearly half of all new MLMs.
While there are still some who aren’t fully comfortable with the idea of a woman working in a STEM-related field, MLM is gaining popularity in part because of a lack of awareness.
Women are more likely to enter the field of science, engineering, and math than men.
According to the National Center for Women & Information Technology, there are now more than 6,300 women working in STEM.
“We want to get women in all those areas.
We want them to get jobs in science and technology, and we want them in math, engineering,” says Christina Ponce, a senior vice president at the National Women’s Law Center.
Ponce is working on a study that will examine whether women can be a better partner in the business world.
“If we can get women to work with each other, they’ll create a better world for everyone,” she says.
MLMs can help women succeed by providing them with career guidance and mentorship, as well as by providing opportunities to meet others in similar fields.
These kinds of mentorship are key for women who are trying to find work in their fields, says Heather Ebert, a professor of marketing and director of the Center for Marketing Research at the University of Southern California.
Ebert says that women in certain fields are not necessarily looking for help and that MLMs are an important tool to help them make a more informed decision.
“You’re talking about people who are making their own money, and they want to help others make their own decisions,” she explains.
Some of the things women need to do to become successful in the MLM industry are to have a strong work ethic, make sure they are able to find a mentor, be open to new ideas, and use tools like video coaching to improve their communication skills, says Michelle DeYoung, an associate professor of human resources at the Rutgers University Graduate School of Business.
DeYoung also says it is important for women to know that their success in the industry is based on their own skills and that they can be successful even if they aren’t a great communicator.
“They can have great work ethic and great confidence in themselves, but they don’t have to be a great worker to be successful in MLM,” she said.
To help women find opportunities in the field, Ebert suggests looking for companies that offer a variety of career options and that have a diversity of women, people of color and people with disabilities.
The majority of women who have participated in MLMs have worked for a company that is located in their home state.
Some have worked at companies that are based in more remote areas.
In some MLM jobs, the pay is often lower, but the company offers some perks that can help offset the lower pay.
MLM programs are not exclusive to one state, but most are offered in areas with high unemployment, low wages and a high poverty rate.
“The majority of people who join MLMs don’t come from a particular state or region.
They come from places where the unemployment is high, and it’s just easier for people to move to another place that has a better job market,” says DeYoung.
“So, that’s one of the ways that you can have a positive impact on the economy.
You can create a more inclusive environment, so that you have more opportunity for those who are looking for a job.”
A recent report from the National Conference of State Legislatures found that MLM companies are responsible for over $60 billion in direct and indirect economic impact.
The companies have a variety and varied ways of creating revenue.
Some programs offer discounts, rewards and other perks, such as a free birthday or a new car, or they also charge a fee to participants.
For example, if a participant works two jobs to make ends meet, then she can receive a $100 discount, or she can be charged a $50 fee for her birthday.
“What they’re doing is putting a premium on the fact that they’re bringing in new people, and that’s part of what they’re trying to do,” DeYoung says.
She adds that the more diversity a company has, the better.
“It’s the diversity that helps them attract more women into their organization, so it’s the more diverse their workforce is, the more they’re able to attract people from other backgrounds,” she concludes.
