A revival of the HBO series “Game Of Thrones” is set to premiere this spring.
The revival is being co-produced by Amazon Studios and Netflix, the two streaming giants in a deal that will reportedly run until 2021.
The show will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Instant Video, Netflix and HBO Go.
The series, based on George R.R. Martin’s novels, was first broadcast in 2003 and has since been picked up for two more seasons, with HBO giving a first season free of charge to fans.
The new series, which is being billed as “an original spin-off series” with the “Tales of the Thrones” brand, is being produced by HBO and will be produced by Bryan Fuller, who co-created “The Sopranos” with David Chase.
The deal marks the second time in a year that HBO has revived a show for a second season.
Earlier this year, it was announced that HBO would bring back “Silicon Valley” for a season, a show that the company had originally created in 2014 with Jeff Davis, who is the show’s creator.
